Come along on a magical ride of confusion, disappointment, poor judgement, life lessons, and ultimately building something that should have never been, but now gets appreciated (sometimes) for being a one of a kind.
In The Beginning…..
Purchased the car in September 2005. She had 91 miles on her – because I made the dealership bring me a car from Baltimore ( I was living in Central PA) because I had to have an orange one. 5 speed. and an LT. My father, the insurance company, and the bank laughed at an 18yr old kid wanting a car with SS badges. The Cobalt replaced my 1986 VW Golf 1.4L because as my father said “You got a job 500 miles away. You need a reliable car. And to learn about life via car payments”Original Specs
2005 Chevrolet Cobalt LT2
Chevrolet Sunburst Orange Metallic Paint
2.2L EcoTec Engine, F23 Getrag 5 Speed transmission.
4×100 16″ Alloy Wheels
145 Crank HP, 100 whp.I did nothing to the car in the early days (as the bank owned it). Also, it was just a way to get around. I had wanted an S10 / Colorado, but couldn’t get one in 5 speed. So the earlier years I just drove and drove and drove this car.
This is the first photo I can find, 2008, when I did my first mod to the car – aftermarket lights
More Soon.
