Recent Part Additions:
Swap: Dreamhost to WordPress.com (lower cost to maintain, financial and time)
Installed: Velvet Blues Update URLs, performance statisfactory but did not repair image url. Determined that CDN removal was part of issue but revealed a url doubling glitch. Turned out to be a diagnostic tool.

Recent progress:
I get most of my traffic from my free reference sheets but recently the download links to them broke. I had been self hosting my site for the last few years but every few months, everything would break for no reasonperiod always during a dry spell when I didn’t touch it. No matter what I did I was unable to fix the problem in any permanent way and unfortunately this was the last straw for my self hosting. I had spent countless hours meticulously handcrafting this site and I had spent so many more on seemingly random down times. The site was supposed to make things easier and simplify my life by being a personal portal, but I was spending for more time on repairs that seemed to be triggered by automatic updates that I could not stop from happening (and to not do so would be a security risk). So I caved and called the dealership.

Currently in the process of migrating the site from self hosting to WordPress.com, hoping that I won’t have to be dealing with content delivery network issues or anything like that anymore.

Hoping this will be my salvation, and I can make some forward progress on this front instead of hamster wheeling it.
