I inherited this truck from my passing grandfather in about 2007; it was my first vehicle. A 1985 Chevroley S10 Blazer, in Sport trim…fully optioned out for its time featuring 4×4 and a 2.8L OBD1 carburated V6.
I drove the truck through high school and as much of college as I could, slowly making cheap and simple mods to it over time. I’d post about everything I did to it over those years, but as you will see, those mods will become dwarfed and obsolete over the course of this project.
Focusing on college, and keeping this Blazer running became too much of a challenge. I put it into storage with the intent to fully restore and engine swap it when I graduated and got a career started.
Given the history of the truck in my family, I feel as though I need to give it what it deserves. Dumping the original 2.8L V6 with the awful rochester feedback carbureted system is a MUST if I want any sort of dependability. Chassis, suspension, steering, braking mods will occur as well.
